जगति अनेकाः भाषाः सन्ति। न हि सर्वे सर्वाः भाषाः जानन्ति। अतः कयाचित् भाषया प्रतिपादितम् अर्थं सर्वेऽपि ज्ञातुं न शक्नुवन्ति। अस्यां स्थितौ भाषान्तरेण तस्यार्थस्य प्रतिपादनम् अपरिहार्यं भवति। इदम् अनुसृत्य वदनं भवतीति “अनुवादः” इत्युच्यते।
There are plenty of languages in the world. Nobody knows all the languages of the world. So ‘Translation is the writing or saying from one language to other. Every langauge has its own speciality and dignity as well. Keeping this in mind, if translation is done then it would be good, otherwise it would be just a change of languages.

प्रश्न 1.

बालकः प्रतिदिनं शालां गच्छति। तत्र तस्य गुरोः मार्गदर्शनम् अनुसरति। श्रद्धया पाठान् श्रृणोति। जीवने उत्तम-नागरिकः भवति।
Clouds with full of water make loud noise (roars) in the sky. By hearing this roar peacocks are dancing. Clouds sprinkling the earth with water: Farmers are also happy.

जलपूर्णः मेघः आकाशे गर्जति। मेघस्य गर्जनं श्रुत्वा मयूराः नृत्यन्ति।
जलधरः जलेन भूमिं सिञ्चति। कृषिका अपि सन्तुष्टाः भवन्ति।

अहं अष्टम कक्ष्यायाः छात्रः/ छात्रा अस्मि। अहं प्रतिदिनं प्रातः पञ्चवादने उत्तिष्ठामि। योगासनं देवपूजाञ्च करिष्यामि माता-पितरं नमस्कृत्य शालां गच्छामि।
In India so many rivers are flowing. Plenty of pilgrim centres are here. So India is called as a land of holiness. We are all Indians.

भारते बढ्यः नद्यः प्रवहन्ति। अत्र बहूनि पुण्यक्षेत्राणि सन्ति। अतः भारतं पुण्यभूमिः इति प्रसिद्धा अस्ति। वयं सर्वे भारतीयाः।

बालकाः क्रीडाङ्गणे क्रीडन्ति। क्रीडया आरोग्यं वर्धते। पठनेन बुद्धिविकासः भवति। अतः जीवने पठनं क्रीडनं च मुख्यौ।
So many kavyas (poetic works) are in Sanskrit language. ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharata’ are famous as Mahakavyas (epics). Ramayana written by Valmiki. Mahabharata’s author is Vedavyasa. (They both are called as Maharishis).

संस्कृते बहूनि काव्यानि सन्ति। तेषु ‘रामायणम्’ ‘महाभारतम्’ च प्रसिद्ध काव्ये। रामायणस्य कर्ता वाल्मीकिः। महाभारतस्य कर्ता वेदव्यासः।

भारतीयाणां पवित्र-ग्रन्थः भगवद्गीता। गीतापठनेन अस्माकं मनसः शान्तिः लभ्यते। अतः वयं प्रतिदिनं गीतां पठामः।
Mahabharatha is the story of Kauravas and Pandavas. Here (we can see) the story of Lord Krishna who is the incarnation of Vishnu, Viduropadesha and Bheeshmopadeshas are the important subjects (points).

महाभारतं कौरवपाण्डवानां कथा। अत्र अवतारपुरुषस्य श्रीकृष्णस्य कथा, . विदुरोपदेशः, भीष्मोपदेशः च प्रसिद्धाः अंशाः।
